Daniel Dilallo made an appearance recently at the Game Developers Conference but not for what you may think. He was not there to talk about a new Call of Duty game but rather to show off a new virtual reality app. Dilallo was at the Gold Club SF which is a gentleman’s club of sorts for the purpose of revealing his new VR app for the club called Gold Club SF VR.
Dilallo has moved away from mainstream entertainment and more towards pornography and other R-rated experiences. Along with his Mode VR and VRClubz.com he has come up with a virtual reality app just for the San Francisco strip club in which users can enjoy exotic dancers with clothes, topless, and even fully nude. His aim with this app is to bring the strip club experience to the privacy of the viewer’s home. His app is still in beta form but not for long. He is hoping that his app will encourage other strip clubs to venture into the virtual reality realm.
While being interviewed by GamesBeat at the Gold Club SF, Dilallo said that the difference between a virtual reality club and a real life club is that it is not always possible to get in to an actual club and virtual clubs are far more interactive than real clubs. Many companies, such as Digi-Capital, estimate that by 2021 virtual reality technology will be a $25 billion industry and it is likely that porn will be driving a big share of that money.
One of the performers at the Gold Club SF believes that now that the virtual reality industry is involved with adult entertainment it can only grow in popularity. Dilallo developed this app through a partnership with Christy Mack who is a former porn actress as well as with the club itself. He filmed several women including a couple who perform at the club and then he added them to a reproduction of the strip club made with computer animation.
He used 360-degree cameras and had artists recreate all of the different textures that could be found in the club in order to provide a very realistic experience. In the app, users will be able to get VIP treatment as well as virtual dances from porn stars such as Christy Mack, Kendra Lust, and Reya Sunshine.
Once the app is officially launched users will be able to pay for an even better experience and for even more money they will be able to buy special treatments to make their experience even more enjoyable. They will basically be able to mimic everything that can happen in an actual strip club but for less cost and from home.
Users will be able to enjoy private rooms as well as front row seating for stage dancing. If they tip the dancers they will take off their clothing. This app will be available for different virtual reality headsets such as the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift.
